PUPA Books
Terms of Use & Copyright
Effective date: September 30, 2026
These terms describe the conditions for using pupabooks.com, including its reading lists, directories, illustrations, book information and author inquiry features. “PUPA Books,” “PUPA,” “we” and “us” refer to the publisher operating this website. Please read these terms before using the website. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Separate written publishing or service agreements, when entered into, govern those arrangements.
1. Information and reading resources
This website provides literary, educational and publishing information. Reading lists and notes reflect editorial selections and are not guarantees about a book’s accuracy, suitability or availability. Works may contain distressing subjects or views that differ from those of PUPA Books.
Content about illness, mental health or other professional subjects is general reading information. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and does not establish a professional relationship. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your circumstances.
2. Copyright and ownership
Copyright in original, copyright-protected material on this website belongs to PUPA Books, the relevant author, or another identified rights holder, as applicable. This may include literary text, editorial writing, photographs, artwork, software and the original selection or arrangement of content. Publication on this website does not transfer ownership to visitors.
All rights in material owned by PUPA Books are reserved except for permissions expressly granted here or elsewhere. Book titles, author names, facts, public-domain material and other elements that are not protected by copyright are not claimed as PUPA’s exclusive property. Third-party works, photographs and other assets remain subject to their owners’ rights and any stated licenses or credits. Open-license permissions continue to apply to those assets.
You may browse the website, share ordinary links to its pages, and print or save a reasonable amount of PUPA-owned material for your personal, noncommercial reading, keeping any attribution and rights notices. This permission does not authorize copying or distributing full books or manuscripts. Unless a separate license or applicable law permits it, obtain the appropriate rights holder’s written permission before republishing, translating, adapting, distributing, selling or commercially exploiting protected material.
Do not remove rights notices, falsely claim authorship, or systematically reproduce protected content to create another publication, database or service without authorization. Nothing in these terms restricts fair use, other statutory exceptions, lawful use of public-domain material, or permissions granted by an applicable third-party license.
3. PUPA name and branding
Do not use the PUPA Books name or logo in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement. Written permission is required for authorized promotional use of our branding. This does not restrict truthful identification, lawful commentary, or other uses permitted by law. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.
4. External websites, purchases and local listings
Links to publishers, retailers, libraries, organizations and other websites are provided for convenience. They do not by themselves imply affiliation, approval of every statement on the linked website, or a guarantee of the provider’s products or services. PUPA does not control third-party websites, their privacy practices, transactions, shipping, refunds or security. Their own terms apply when you use them.
Prices, stock, opening hours, sale dates, eligibility rules and free-book programs can change. A “Last checked” date indicates when a listing was reviewed, not a promise that its information remains current. Confirm details directly with the provider before traveling, buying or applying. PUPA does not guarantee that assistance, a free book, a particular edition or a response will be available.
This website does not process book purchases. Transactions made through external purchase links are with the relevant seller, and questions about payment, delivery or returns should be directed to that seller.
5. Author inquiries and submissions
You must be authorized to send the material you submit and must disclose relevant contributors, existing agreements, prior publication and third-party material. Do not submit material that infringes another person’s rights or information you are not authorized to share.
Sending an inquiry or manuscript does not transfer copyright, grant permission for publication, create a publishing or agency agreement, or guarantee review, acceptance, services or payment. By submitting material for consideration, you permit PUPA and editors assisting with that consideration to receive, retain and review it solely for evaluating and responding to your inquiry. Any publication, translation, distribution or other commercial use requires a separate written agreement with the appropriate rights holders.
The inquiry form prepares a message in your email application for your review before sending. The form itself does not store your submission on this website. Once sent, your correspondence is handled through email. A submission does not by itself create a separate confidentiality or nondisclosure agreement; agree on any special handling requirements with us before sending material that requires them.
6. Responsible use
Use the website lawfully. Do not impersonate others, send unlawful or abusive material, upload malicious software, attempt unauthorized access, bypass security measures, or disrupt the website through excessive automated requests. You are responsible for material you send and for your own unlawful use of the website. We may limit access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or protect the website.
7. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its information are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. We aim to provide useful information but do not warrant that all content is complete, accurate, current or suitable for every reader, or that access will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.
Your decisions about reading, visiting a location, purchasing from a third party or submitting material remain your responsibility. Nothing here limits a warranty or duty that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PUPA Books and persons acting on its behalf will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses arising from use of, or inability to use, this website, including lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data. To that same extent, we disclaim liability for losses caused by reliance on inaccurate or outdated listings, third-party websites or transactions, or interruptions and errors in this informational website.
Subject to the exceptions below and to the extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of PUPA Books and persons acting on its behalf for claims arising from this website will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid directly to PUPA specifically for access to or use of this website during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This cap does not apply to obligations under a separate publishing or service agreement.
These limitations apply only where legally enforceable. They do not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability, consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. They do not override obligations expressly accepted in a separate written agreement.
9. Responsibility for third-party claims
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify PUPA Books and persons acting on its behalf for reasonable losses, damages and legal expenses resulting from a third-party claim caused by your unlawful use of the website, your intentional violation of these terms, or material you submit that infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights. This obligation applies only to the extent the claim is attributable to your conduct. It does not cover losses attributable to PUPA’s own breach, negligence or misconduct, or impose liability where applicable law prohibits it.
PUPA will give you reasonably prompt notice of a claim, allow you a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense, and reasonably cooperate at your expense where this obligation applies. No settlement may impose a payment, admission or other obligation on either party without that party’s written consent. This provision does not make an ordinary reading choice or good-faith inquiry a basis for indemnification.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you browse the website or contact us. Please read it alongside these terms. Acknowledging these terms does not replace any separate consent required by privacy law.
11. Authority and submitted material
When submitting material or agreeing to services, you represent that you have legal capacity and authority to do so, or that an authorized parent or guardian is acting for you where required. You must have any permissions needed from contributors and from people whose private information, name or likeness you submit. Do not send unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or rights-infringing material. These requirements do not transfer the author’s ownership to PUPA.
12. Events outside reasonable control
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible for a delay or failure to perform obligations under these website terms caused by an event beyond its reasonable control, such as a natural disaster, government restriction, war, widespread communications failure or provider outage. This provision does not excuse a failure to take reasonable precautions, override obligations under another written agreement, or limit nonwaivable rights.
13. Permissions, corrections and copyright concerns
For permission to use PUPA-owned material, contact Editor@pupabooks.com. Identify the material, the intended use, the audience and the format. A request or our silence does not constitute permission, and we cannot license rights owned by someone else.
If you believe content on this website infringes your rights, email Editor@pupabooks.com with your contact details, identification of the work and rights holder, the precise website location, and an explanation of your concern and authority to raise it. We will assess the information and take appropriate action.
For a formal copyright complaint, also provide a physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorized representative; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the allegedly infringing material; your address, telephone number and email; a statement of good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Please also report inaccurate directory entries or broken links to the editor so that we can review them.
14. Updates and other agreements
We may update these terms by posting a revised version and effective date on this page. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law and any required notice or consent. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A separate signed publishing or service agreement controls where it conflicts with these website terms. These terms do not waive rights that applicable law protects.
15. Scope, waiver and continuing provisions
These terms are the complete agreement about ordinary use of this website, subject to applicable law and any separate written agreement with PUPA. They do not replace a signed publishing agreement or restrict statutory rights. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later. Copyright ownership, restrictions on unauthorized reuse, legally enforceable liability limits, and responsibility for claims arising from earlier conduct continue to apply after website access ends.
